Located in in the heart of historic Adams Morgan, Roofers Union features classic American fare through a German gastropub lens. The menu, as designed by James Beard Semifinalist Chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley, changes seasonally but always includes snacks like the honey Sriracha wings, spinach and white bean dip with house made pretzel chips and crispy brussels sprouts. Known for their assortment of house made sausages including the innovative veal heart sausage and Bahn Mi Style Sausage Sandwich with chicken liver mousse and pickled vegetables, Roofers Union also offers a variety of sandwiches, hearty entrees, lighter fare and salads. Guests count the heirloom grain risotto, beer steamed mussels, and smoked half chicken among their favorites.
Beer Director Dave Delaplaine plays with 22 draft lines, filling them with local, seasonal or interesting craft beers and changing them regularly. A list of creative cocktails, punch bowls, ciders and worthy wines round out the beverage offerings nicely.
Roofers Union’s menu, beverage program and bubbly atmosphere make it an inviting place to gather for any occasion. Perfect for private parties, the restaurant has three separate floors; customize the experience further by selecting a seat in the cozy downstairs lounge, the boisterous second floor dining room with floor to ceiling windows or the al fresco rooftop with complete views of the lively 18th St Corridor.
