WorldPride comes to Washington, DC from May 17 to June 8!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Pride in Washington, DC and we're celebrating by making it an all-out international experience. Join the momentous celebrations as the nation’s capital is painted with pride, featuring a variety of events to inspire, empower and connect the international LGBTQ+ community and their allies. The Fabric of Freedom theme emphasizes our community, woven together through our rich cultures, diverse identities and backgrounds. Check out some of the highlights below.

Paint the Town with Pride - May 16 - June 30

Love mural rainbow

In celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, the DC region will show up and show out in colorful decorations. Access the Paint the Town Virtual map to engage with the inspiring and larger-than-life installations throughout the area. Stay tuned for information on you can sign-up to participate.

Trans Pride - May 17

Celebrate the trans and non-binary community as DC Trans Pride returns to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. Take part in a day of workshops, discussions and programming to honor and empower the transgender community.

DC Black Pride - May 23-26

Held annually since 1991, DC Black Pride continues to honor the Black LGBTQ+ community with a series of cultural and educational activities, fostering unity and pride. Stay tuned for this year's schedule and location.

Pride Film Festival - May 23 - June 1

In partnership with Reel Affirmations, the award-winning LGBTQ+ film festival, the Pride Film Festival celebrate arts and culture with film classics and new offerings, presenting diverse stories that inspire and entertain.

International Choral Festival - May 23 - June 8

Enjoy daily 45-minute pop-up performances by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC (GMCW), and guest GALA choruses from across the country at venues around the city. And don't miss GMCW's annual Pride Show on May 31 and June 1.

Capital Cup: Sports Festival - May 28 – June 4

Pride Parade Monumental Sports

Kickstart the festivities with the Capital Cup, a multi-day sports festival organized by Team DC, the city’s network of LGBTQ+ sports teams and leagues. Expected sports include dodgeball, pickleball, rugby, volleyball and even the IGLA Swimming Championship 2025.

WorldPride Welcome Ceremony and Concert - May 31

Get the party started at the WorldPride DC 2025 opening event held at Nationals Park, featuring a high-energy concert by global superstar Shakira as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. The event will include opening remarks, the welcoming of Capital Cup athletes and a celebration of the rich history and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community.

Human Rights Conference - June 4-6

The WorldPride Human Rights Conference, presented by the Capital Pride Alliance in collaboration with leading human rights organizations, focuses on inclusion, diversity and accessibility. Engage with guest speakers and participate in workshops to learn, strategize and amplify marginalized voices, ensuring LGBTQ+ freedoms globally.

Capital Pride Honors - June 5

Capital Pride Honors

The Capital Pride Alliance honors outstanding leaders and activists in the National Capital Region who have furthered causes important to the LGBTQ+ community. This year's WorldPride edition will highlight members of the global InterPride community Pride Honors will collectively celebrate honorees who tirelessly contribute to advocacy, outreach, education and programming. The gala will feature live music, delicious food and a formal awards ceremony, with presentations by influential trailblazers in the LGBTQ+ community.

WorldPride Music Festival: Global Dance Party - June 6-7

Capital Pride Festival

For the first time ever, the grandest LGBTQ+ celebration arrives in DC to mark the 50th anniversary of Capital Pride. The two-day music festival features three stages of diverse, incredible talent and cutting-edge art across genres like house, pop, drag, and techno. Prepare for the ultimate global dance party organized by Jake Resnicow's Dreamland and produced by Insomniac Events and Club Glow, the team behind the historic 2019 WorldPride event in NYC.

WorldPride Parade - June 7

Experience the WorldPride Parade as decorative floats, festive groups and diverse displays make their way down Constitution Avenue. Spanning nearly 20 blocks, celebrate the LGBTQ+ community as the monumental backdrop of the nation's capital is decked out with pops of color and vibrant fanfare.

WorldPride Festival and Concert - June 7-8

The Capital Pride Festival and Concert, already one of the largest LGBTQ+ events globally, will expand to two days during WorldPride Weekend. The expansive National Mall will host hundreds of thousands of attendees to enjoy exhibits, food and drink gardens, games and performances featuring local acts and national headliners.

International March on Washington & Rally - June 8

Follow in the footsteps of historic figures and LGBTQ+ activists who have marched for freedom and equality. The International March on Washington & Rally will make its way through the city and culminate at the U.S. Capitol.

WorldPride Closing Concert and Ceremony - June 8

WorldPride Concert

Wrap up the festivities with an epic closing ceremony on the National Mall. The evening will be marked by performances, a montage of the week’s past events and an interactive art installation for attendees to leave their mark. Plus, witness the passing of the torch to the next WorldPride host destination, complete with performances by international acts in front of the U.S. Capitol.
