Destination DC’s American Experience Foundation and the National Law Enforcement Museum Announce the “SEE, HEAR, SAVE” Campaign

The revenue share agreement will incentivize ticket sales to the museum and generate a donation from the museum to the American Experience Foundation.

(Washington, DC) – Today, the American Experience Foundation (AEF) announces its partnership with the National Law Enforcement Museum on a revenue share agreement called “SEE, HEAR, SAVE,” which runs through July 31, 2019.  A 501(c) (3) public charity, AEF enriches the lives of low-income students through inspirational travel experiences to the nation’s capital. It is the philanthropic arm of Destination DC (DDC), the official destination marketing organization for Washington, DC.

The “SEE, HEAR, SAVE” campaign will provide five dollars off any ticket in any category, for visitors interested in experiencing the National Law Enforcement Museum, dedicated to telling the story of American law enforcement through more than 20,000 artifacts. Guests can visit the National Law Enforcement Museum’s website to purchase tickets with the discount code “SEEHEARSAVE”. The code is also eligible in person at the box office. Fifty percent of ticket revenue will be donated to AEF.

“The National Law Enforcement Museum joins leading cultural institutions in the nation’s capital that have taken part in similar revenue share agreements and played a hand in supporting our local youth,” said Elliott L. Ferguson II, president and CEO, Destination DC. “We’re pleased to join forces with the new museum and promote the campaign through print, digital and event marketing, as well as our social media channels.”

Throughout the year, AEF works in Washington, DC to invest in future tourism and hospitality professionals, in part by awarding annual scholarships to deserving students from the Academies of Hospitality and Tourism (AOHT). This year, the foundation will announce the winning students at an awards ceremony in June. Awards include the Gregory McCarthy Scholarship Award, recognizing exemplary leadership qualities, the David Iselin Community Service award, for a student who has contributed beyond the classroom, and an academy alumna award to provide ongoing support to a deserving DC high school graduates.

“We’re proud to partner with Destination DC on this promotion to benefit the American Experience Foundation,” said Lori Sharpe Day, interim CEO, National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. “AEF aligns closely with the National Law Enforcement Museum’s core values by providing educational opportunities and cultural enrichment to students in underserved communities. We believe this partnership will be of great benefit to both the Museum and Destination DC.”

The American Experience Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity affiliated with Destination DC, enriches the lives of students through inspirational travel experiences and educational opportunities to cultivate the next generation of hospitality industry professionals. AEF offers students an introduction to the wonder of travel and exposure to hospitality career paths through: free field trips for low-income 8th graders from Washington, DC and across the country; scholarships to qualified DC high school Academies of Hospitality and Tourism students and graduates; and educational programs to connect students to hospitality industry professionals and ensure college and career readiness. americanexperiencefoundation.org
